Alpenzu Venison Ragu, 225g
Alpenzu’s venison ragu is rich and comforting – perfect for cosy evenings at home. It’s flavoured with red wine and juniper berries which give the meaty sauce an authentic northern Italian taste. Rich in iron and low in cholesterol, venison is a great alternative to beef or pork and the meat breaks down beautifully after long, slow cooking. To serve, simply warm up the ragu and toss it with cooked pasta. Long, ribbon-shaped pasta like pappardelle and tagliatelle is perfect as the wide strands will capture the morsels of slow-cooked meat. Add a grating of Parmesan and pour yourself a glass of red wine – Italian, of course!
